About

Born in Virginia and widely traveled, Bill Cushing has lived in numerous states and territories before settling in Glendale, California, with his wife and son. A Navy veteran and former electrician, Bill began his academic journey at age 37, earning an MFA in writing from Goddard College.

Bill is an accomplished poet and writer with several acclaimed works, including A Former Life, Music Speaks, and The Commies Come to Waterton. His writings span poetry, short stories, memoirs, and articles, appearing in numerous publications such as Another Chicago Magazine and West Trade Review. Recognized as one of L.A.'s top poets, Bill continues to write, teach, and lead writing workshops after retiring from a 23-year teaching career.

His current projects include memoirs reflecting on his time in the Navy and personal life, along with a revisitation of his late wife's battle with cancer.
